Yongyi Refractory × CNBM Luoyang New Energy: Premium Furnace Materials Empowering High-Efficiency Mass Production of High-Transmittance Photovoltaic Glass
Client: CNBM (Luoyang) New Energy Co., Ltd.
Industry: New Energy Glass Manufacturing (Photovoltaic/Solar Glass)
Services Provided: Supply of Low-Iron, High-Purity Refractory Materials and Strict-Standard Furnace Construction Services
Project Background: As a leading force in the domestic photovoltaic glass sector, CNBM Luoyang New Energy is dedicated to providing high-quality, high-transmittance ultra-clear patterned glass for the global solar industry. The operational stability and internal cleanliness of the photovoltaic glass melting furnace directly determine the transmittance and photoelectric conversion efficiency of the finished products. To build a high-standard ultra-clear glass production line, CNBM Luoyang New Energy rigorously screened suppliers during the project construction phase. Ultimately, Yongyi stood out due to our professional solutions and construction capabilities specifically tailored for specialty glass melting furnaces.
Project Challenges: Unlike standard architectural glass, photovoltaic glass is extremely sensitive to impurities such as iron ions. Even the slightest contamination from refractory materials melting into the glass liquid will significantly reduce the glass’s light transmittance. Furthermore, modern photovoltaic glass melting furnaces often utilize oxy-fuel combustion technology, resulting in extremely high concentrations of water vapor and alkaline vapors inside the furnace. This places incredibly stringent anti-erosion and anti-scouring demands on the refractories used in the crown and basin walls. The client required a comprehensive furnace solution that guarantees both “ultra-long service life” and “absolute purity.”
Yongyi’s Solution:
Premium Product Supply (Extreme Purity and Powerful Anti-Erosion): Yongyi customized a product line of low-iron, high-purity refractory materials for CNBM Luoyang New Energy. To address the harsh oxy-fuel combustion environment, we supplied premium zero-expansion silica bricks for the main crown, effectively resisting the erosion from high-concentration alkaline vapors and eliminating the risk of crown “dripping” that could contaminate the molten glass. For the critical areas in direct contact with the glass liquid, we selected high-density premium fused cast AZS blocks with minimal glassy phase exudation. This ensured maximum purity of the molten glass while robustly resisting physical scouring.
Professional Construction Services (Dust-Free and High-Precision Masonry): To eliminate secondary contamination of the furnace chamber during construction, Yongyi’s construction team implemented strict “clean construction” standards on-site. Our technical experts and senior furnace masons worked closely together, controlling brick joints to millimeter or even sub-millimeter tolerances. Particularly during the laying of the multi-layered basin bottom and the closing of the crown, we employed incredibly refined mortar mixing and masonry techniques. This ensured the high gas-tightness of the entire furnace and cut off penetration pathways for corrosive gases.
Customer Value & Results: Following the commissioning of the photovoltaic glass melting furnace, supported by Yongyi’s materials and construction services, the operation has been exceptionally stable, with all thermal parameters meeting or exceeding design standards. The high-purity refractory materials have effectively guaranteed the extreme light transmittance of the ultra-clear patterned glass, minimizing defect rates such as “stones” and “cords.” This has not only enhanced CNBM Luoyang New Energy’s market competitiveness in high-end photovoltaic glass but also laid a solid foundation for the long-term, low-energy consumption operation of their production line.
